Love has arrived

The festivities have begun. Judy and Len hosted a fabulous dinner at Davey's Hideaway last night, the two grooms are finalizing the ceremony, and Peaches is framing the shots like Francis Ford Coppola.

Missy Calyn, has sent beautiful tropical love flowers to mark tonight's wedding of Brian and David. The lovely CMD was a historical love witness to the boyz "commitment" in Seattle 12 years ago. Tonight she will be with us all here, in our hearts.

Barbie makes it to Arizona

Two nights ago in Tucumari

How do you spell "weary traveler"?

A girl an only take so much . . . neon festooned vintage motels . . . broad vistas of still virgin America . . . rocks, rocks, and more rocks. The road is a little easier to take when it's Route 66 but please fellas, get this lady a pool chair!

The boys, the dogs and I have made it to Seligman, wherever the Skipper that is, they tell me it's somewhere in Arizona. That's after a day's drive from Gallup that included miles on the Mother Road, tours of the Painted Desert, the Petrified Forest . . . AND the Grand Canyon!
Can you believe we had New Mexican Mexican for breakfast and Arizonian Mexican for lunch? I've got a grooms maid dress to fit into on Saturday night!!!

But tomorrow should be an easier time. We're taking some fabulous road through Peach(es) Springs, Hackberry, Kingman, Oatman and Needles (seriously, where do they get these names?) before we drop down to Amboy and leave the Route for a jog through Twentynine Palms and into Palm Springs. (or so David promises).

Ruby, they promise me I'll be there in time for my cocktail hours, start chilling the champagne.

Barbie's Road Report

. .
As you may all know, your intrepid reporter is following two elopers headed to the altar at the Coral Sands.

The trip has been one meal after another. I don't know how I am going to keep my infamous figure following thes two Road Food fans on Route 66.

.
It started in Indianapolis where they turned a detour through town into a pig out at the Mug 'n Suds. Pork chops on a bun AND Root Beer? Help me.

I thought once we were on the actual Mother Road things would change, but no. Seems the boyz are carrying iPhones and are constantly tapped into their Road Food.com membership maps.

maps.

.
So it was Chicken Fried Steak and Coconut Cream Pie in Vinita, Oklahoma. (They even tried to have Onion Burgers for Sunday breakfast in El Reno, but the G-Spoons weren't open!)) But that hardly slowed thme down . They headed directly for Texas BarBie-Que at Dyer's in Amarillo. Now we're in New Mexico and they're looking for a place to have breakfast.

Please send Malox.

(Midge, please excuse the layout of this entry, but I didn't have the budget to bring my designer with me on the road.)

Peaches, HELP ME! Anytime, my anatomically incorrect sistah, anytime.
