Every year friends, spectators, and celebrities from around the world gather in Palm Springs for what Frank Sinatra liked to call his "little party in the desert." The Frank Sinatra invitational golf tournament is the most successful and top celebrity golf tournament in the USA, held annually in the Palm Springs, California area. Activities for the Frank Sinatra Golf Tournament include rounds of golf, cocktail parties, a marvelous ladies luncheon, and a fashion show hosted by Barbara Sinatra and many of her celebrity friends.

Dates for the upcoming Tour de Palm Springs: February 9-10, 2007. Palm Springs Bicycle Riders in Tour de Palm Springs choose from four different routes ranging from 8 miles to 100 miles. Tour de Palm Springs is Palm Springs largest annual bike ride event. Proceeds generated from this Bicycle Riding event are donated to Palm Springs local charities. Last year's Tour de Palm Springs raised more than $100,000 with over 6,300 cyclists participating with a combined total of 366,131 miles.

Lola's Career In a Nutshell

Many have asked about the Sands' fabulous pooch Lola and how she came to be so influential at The Sands. It's a question we get all the time and so we are addressing it here. Mind you, this is a very brief overview.

Like her idol Jodie Foster, Lola began working when she was just a pup. Her first job was pulling panties off pretty girls, a skill we have all noted in Lola's oeuvre at the Sands. From there, she learned to mix cocktails and light cigarettes.

A quick study, Lola advanced rapidly. Read on.

Mustang Sally

Leaving Coppertone, Lola moved West and took a job at the legendary Mustang Ranch where she started as plate licker and was soon promoted. She learned everything she knows about gate keeping at the Ranch while perfecting her charms as hostess.


Working the big Ranch was demanding, though, and Lola began to look for a smaller gig where she could relate to the guests on a more intimate level. The rest, as they say, is history.

And, finally, the Lola you all know as Gate-Keeper-for-Life, First Responder, Charge d'Affairs, Lap Warmer, Love Bug, the Anna Nichol Smith of the Coral Sands, Door Belle, Bed Sneak, Lunch Stealer, Barker of the Pool Rim, Mrs. Kisses, Mrs. Louie L'Amour, everybody's Lolita, Mavis Pruitt, and Always On A Sunday.

Malibu home burned down recently. But, she has a great attitude about life that helps her weather adversity. More importantly, the actress has a home right here with us.


Tyler's hamburger hut has embraced the star in a real big way. The Coral Sands' official favorite burger at Tyler's is the eponymous Somer Size. In fact, you can just about bet that will be Ruby's order every time.

The Fabulous Irwins and Yoya (Lola)

The Fabulous Irwins have landed at The Sands. Lisa is my sometimes gardner and always seems to leave the place much better than when she arrived. Dean (her mate) is having a virginal experience at The Sands. We have already discovered that he is a Dog Whisperer...I am sure you can read the contentment in Lola's face. He had all three Sands dogs in a semi circle this a.m. and all were backing into his hands. They'll be riding tiny tricycles by the time he leaves.
