On the road to Montana, I finally caught up with Boom Ball Squaw, The Sands' tireless ambassador to the most far-flung corners of the world, pictured here in her base camp The Rockway Institute..
Boom Ball is in Portugal at the moment, a little civilized for her but we suspect she is off the beaten path as usual. Passing through Algarve, she reports a trifecta of excellent sangria, salt-grilled fish and tiramisu gelato--the official gelato of The Rockway Institute.

No mention of whether she ran into any cute Lisbians, however. But then, she is a Lisboan kind of gal.
