The Coral Sands Honors the Godfather of Soul
James Brown, the man who put the grunt in soul, is gone. The Godfather of Soul died Christmas morning. Put on your red dress baby, get on up like a sex machine, it's the big pay back! Friends...this is a momumental moment.

Are we sure he is not being helped to Heaven by his band members, wrapping his gold cape around his bent and weary shoulders, patting him, carrying him, lifting him up from the floor, giving him the strength to go on, while he shakes his head in exhaustion.....Won't he cast off that cape, jump to life, wail and come back for one last magnificent, soulful encore? Just one more, James. Please.
No surprise that the man who sang "Santa Claus Go Straight To The Ghetto" chose Christmas Day to make his dramatic exit. He was truly the best - much as I love the Beatles and Elvis, James was more influential on popular music than both of them put together. Rest in peace, Soul Brother Number One...
Oh yeah - great talkin' to ya the other night, Ruby. Always good to meet a fellow Ann Arbor refugee...
